The Hunger Mountain Co-op respects and protects
the privacy of our members.
Why We Collect Information
1. When we enroll a new Co-op member we ask the
following information: First Name, Last Name, Address, City/Town, State, Zip, E-mail Address,
Phone (optional questions include "Are you 65 or older?"
and "Are You Disabled?" to determine whether members qualify for special
discounts). We use this information to establish your membership,
and to stay in contact with you.
2. We also request member email addresses for the Co-op email list
so that those who prefer electronic over conventional mail can receive
information and reduce paper use and mailing costs for the Co-op.
Some of this information includes Co-op news (newsletter and announcements),
important events, HMC philosopy, educational issues.
Tracking Website Use
We track web site visitor traffic and keep statistics
on things like: which pages are most viewed, what patterns of site use are most common,
and what other web sites visitors are most likely to us come from.
We do this in order to understand how visitors are using the web
site and how better to enhance and improve the website in the future.
This tracking information is statistical in nature, and totally
anonymous; it does not have names or email addresses attached to
it.
Our
Pledge of Confidentiality
We collect personal information only for Co-op membership purposes
and we keep this information strictly confidential. We never give
our membership information to anyone outside the Co-op. For security
our servers manage and store your membership information in a fully
encrypted manner. Only authorized Co-op personnel have access to
membership information.
In short we take your privacy very seriously.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our privacy policy
please direct them to info@hungermountain.com.
