Hunger Mountain Coop is a member-owned natural
market and café on Stone Cutters Way in Montpelier, Vermont.
The present location, a 20,000 square foot structure, was originally built
in 1996 and expanded in 2008. Previously, the Coop had two other storefronts
in the Capitol City after it was created as a buying club for healthy,
inexpensive foods in 1969.
Currently, Hunger Mountain has over 5500 Member-Owners.
Hunger Mountain Co-op is proud of its place in the Central Vermont
community. On our shelves one can find over 200 products from local
farms and companies; buying locally and contributing to the sustainability
of the local economy continues to be a Co-op priority. In addition,
we offer a regular schedule of (mostly free) workshops on a variety
of subjects, including nutrition, health and the environment, and
contribute to a wide array of community events and programs.
