Construction of The Coop's long-awaited expansion/renovation has begun. We are thrilled to see our plans being put into action and hope you are equally excited. In a matter of months, we will have a new building to better serve the co-op community.
In April, the contractors arrived and erected the safety fence. They constructed a temporary rear entrance/loading dock, removed contaminated soils and excavated for foundations for the new retail space. We had a wonderful groundbreaking ceremony and even celebrated Earth Day.
During May, the contractors will complete the foundations, erect structural steel and pour the concrete slab for the retail addition. A temporary wall will be erected along the east (Stonecutters Way) side of the building and windows will be relocated. The parking lot will continue to have one entry/exit and one-way traffic until late June. We appreciate your patience and safe driving. Our goal is still to complete the project by Thanksgiving 2008.
